Review John Wick: Chapter 4 An Interesting Action Movie To Watch

John Wick's first film could be Hollywood's answer to the glory of The Raid. The brutal thumping action, action scenes that emphasize fight choreography instead of fast editing and a simple story are clearly inspired by the film starring Iko Uwais.

Nearly a decade later, the journey of a hit man who rose from his early retirement after his beloved anabul was murdered enters its fourth volume. And it seems this is not the last series of John Wick (Keanu Reeves). John Wick: Chapter 4 continues John's quest for revenge with the higher ups of the High Table.

After successfully killing Elder in Morocco, those closest to him immediately felt the consequences. Winston (Ian McShane) is not only fired as manager of the New York branch of Continental but he also has to watch his hotel go down. Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill SkarsgÄrd) is now getting resources from the High Table to eliminate John.

John also goes to Osaka to meet his old friend whom he still trusts, Koji (Hiroyuki Sanada). The Marquis also did the same. He hires the services of John's old friend, Caine (Donnie Yen), to catch John. The fight was inevitable.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is the first film in the John Wick series not written by Derek Kolstad. The scriptwriting responsibility now rests with Stay Hatten and Michael Finch. The result is a story that is quite simple but still manages to develop the John Wick mythology even bigger.

If there's one thing that I always appreciate from John Wick films, it's how the makers always know how to introduce their new characters. The new characters in the John Wick series always make sense. Once they appear, the creators of the John Wick series have always managed to convince me that they have been in the world for a long time.

In John Wick: Chapter 4 the audience will get acquainted with characters such as Koji, Akira (Rina Sawayama), Marquis, Caine, Killa (Scott Adkins), Mr. Nobody (Shamier Anderson) to Katia (Natalia Tena). These new characters not only manage to penetrate the world of John Wick but also add to the background of the figure of John Wick himself.

As an action film, the duration of nearly three hours is unreasonable. How is it possible that a film whose duration rarely talks about the same length as The Lord of the Rings? This long duration is like two images on the same coin.

On a positive note, the audience will be treated to amazing set pieces that will never stop. On the negative, it's quite tiring to watch action movies so far. Even though the duration is quite long, there isn't a single dull moment in it
John Wick: Chapter 4.

Apart from all the actors in it playing beautifully (Rina Sawayama and Shamier Anderson really steal the show), this film could be a place to show off Chad Stahelski as a director because this film presents tense action scenes that are beautiful to the eye.

There are lots of fight scenes in John Wick: Chapter 4 but perhaps the most memorable are the three set pieces in Osaka, Berlin and the top one is in Paris. What's impressive is not only that these three set pieces are really fun and very neatly designed, but these three set pieces have a different but equally beautiful visual language.

If the set pieces in Osaka feel artistic with a beautiful setting, then the fight scenes in Berlin are done in a nightclub. The production design of this film really maximizes the space for movement so that Stahelski can show the contrast between what the main character is doing and the extras around him.

In the Berlin scene, it feels quite surreal (and makes sense in the world of John Wick) to see John fighting with Killa while the people around them are dancing. Even though the scenes in Osaka and in Berlin are exciting, nothing beats the set pieces in Paris which probably took more than 30 minutes alone.

From the streets of Paris to the stairs, Stahelski seemed to be showing off his actions. John must fight all the assassins that are after him. These set pieces are agilely choreographed. Coupled with solid editing, the brutality of this fight is really fun to watch on an IMAX-sized screen.

From a traffic jam to a fight scene in an empty building (one long take of which will leave the audience in awe) and ending with a scene on the stairs, John Wick: Chapter 4 shows his mettle in this sequence.

With great visuals (note how brightly lit this film is, very refreshing when compared to most blockbusters where the picture tends to be overcast), John Wick: Chapter 4 is solid food for any action fan.

Fury of the Gods premiered at TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood on March 9, 2023, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 17, 2023.

Review Shazam! Fury of the Gods

With a duration of 2 hours and 10 minutes, this film begins with the continuation of the Shazam family story after the first film. In this sequel, the six orphans who turn into Shazam are well known for their actions in Philadelphia. Instead of being known as great superheroes, they are known as cowardly superheroes. Even so, they still do not back down to help people in need.

This film focuses on Billy Batson who feels himself to be the leader of the superhero group. However, what he didn't realize, each member had their own life that he couldn't interfere with. In addition, because they are still teenagers, except for Mary, their egos are still high and they are still struggling to find their identity. Meanwhile, high school-style love stories cannot just pass from their lives.

Freddy's encounter with Anne changes the dynamics of the Shazam family. AGB's love story wrapped in their egos makes this film feel relatable. Freddy felt as a superhero, he could do anything that he couldn't do in his original form. On the other hand, he also wants to show who he is without having to depend on Billy and the others. This wish was opposed by Billy, who felt that the responsibility for the entire Shazam family was in his hands.

This dynamic is one of the focuses of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The small dispute between Billy and Freddy feels relatable to many people's lives. In addition, in the midst of this search for identity, Billy also changed. Even though he still has an unstable teenage soul and has a big ego, Billy finally knows his responsibility to his family, not only to himself. This development is certainly good for the growth of everyone in this film.

The theme of family that is carried by this sequel does not only occur in the protagonist's camp, but also the antagonist's. They are the three children of Atlas. They face their own problems with the desire to avenge their father's death. A burning desire for revenge had blinded one of them. Chaos ensued and they were involved in their own conflict.

All of this does not escape being the butt of jokes in this film. In one scene, Shazam quotes Dominic Toretto in Fast and Furious: It's all about family. Not only Fast and Furious, this film also quotes a number of other films including jokes related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, these hilarious dialogues are just right and not too exaggerated. This is what makes the humor more interesting than the previous film.

Not only dialogue, this film also has many funny scenes. People will definitely laugh out loud seeing the behavior of Shazam and his family. Everything is enhanced by the presence of the Witch, played by Djimoun Hounsou. The figure depicted as old is no less laughable with his hilarious jokes. The action in this film is pretty decent. Even though it's not as grand as other superhero films, it's quite entertaining and fun to watch. Various kinds of monsters that are presented also add to the excitement of this film. The additional elements of horror make this film feel a bit different from other superhero films. Meanwhile, there are several scenes that will remind people of the film Doctor Strange. On the other hand, this film can unite action with drama without overlapping portions. The emotions that occur are deeper than the previous film.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods also has a lighter tone than other DC films. This film is also the funniest of the other films in this franchise. People who like superhero films, regardless of the origin of the franchise, will enjoy this film because it is entertaining. In addition, Shazam could be one of the franchises in the DCEU that James Gunn and Peter Safran will bring to the DCU if this film is successful at the box office and critics. From the initial response, this film is quite promising.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods balances character development and action throughout this film. This sequel shows a change in the main character. Although maturity is still on the last list, this is precisely its hallmark. A number of conflicts in this film are resolved by means of children, even though they are in the form of adults.

Creed III: Review, Story, And Explanation

Creed III starring Michael B. Jordan. This time, they are back with a continuation through Creed III which is said to be showing an interesting story and an intense and interesting boxing fight. Check out our review!

Story premise Creed 3

Here Adonis Creed – the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion decides to retire with honor with a loving family and a successful management career in Creed III. He is married to Bianca (Tessa Thompson), a talented musician who turns to production when her hearing loss gets worse. Amara (Mila Davis Kent), their hearing impaired daughter, is intelligent and also a fighter like her father.

To give him a milestone, Adonis even trains Felix Chavez (Jose Benavidez), the new heavyweight champion. Even though they seem to be enjoying life so far, something is about to change.

Adonis' life has completely changed again due to the unexpected arrival of Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors), who has just been released from prison after nearly two decades. They are more than just friends, they are practically brothers as both of them lived in an orphanage together during their youth. Damian is ready to continue his boxing career as he is also a former amateur boxer and asks if Adonis is willing to help him get his chance.

The audience later learned that due to a violent altercation this resulted in Damian spending half his life in prison, while Adonis managed to escape and found great glory. So these two people have their own history and grudges.

Damian didn't just appear out of thin air by chance, but he is a constant reminder of a childhood friendship that didn't pan out. Because of this, Adonis is easily cajoled into giving Damian a shot at the title, but nothing goes well in the movie, does it? But, this then leads to a big fight between Adonis and Damian.

Intense Storyline Creed 3

With Creed III, Michael B. Jordan made his feature film directorial debut. I think he made a pretty solid debut being able to produce amazing performances from his co-stars and himself, as well as capturing the series' iconic and awesome fights so well. I'm aware that some people doubt his ability as a director, but luckily, Michael B. Jordan proved them wrong by doing an outstanding job in Creed III.

He displayed an uncanny knack by going beyond the logic of a typical boxing film to turn a screenplay into an intense character-driven drama. This is obvious as everything moves at a constant pace as Jordan takes time to develop his characters and plot, leaving enough space for us to feel drawn into their conflict.

The absence of Stallone, the creator of this series, is arguably the most striking change in Creed III. Stallone is still on board with the film as a producer, but other than that he's leaving everything to Jordan.

Michael B. Jordan may have played the main character in the first two "Creed" films. However, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is still an important link between this spin-off film and the original “Rocky” franchise. By eliminating Rocky, Creed III provides an opportunity for Adonis to step out of the shadow of the former main character to walk his own path.

All Solid Character Roles

Michael B. Jordan gives the character of Adonis 'His Creed' significant charisma and personality. Jordan does an excellent job controlling his character, whether he is fighting opponents in the ring or when he is interacting with his family which often includes speechless conversations spoken in Sign Language between him and his daughter, Amara. Overall, he is really great and I understand why he is such a famous actor in Hollywood.

The same goes for the rest of the cast, particularly Tessa Thompson, what I love is that Jordan really values the supporting cast. She had her own moments to shine, playing Adonis' wife with personal struggles namely hearing loss but still supporting her husband until the end.

After that, there is Jonathan Majors, who is known as one of the best antagonist roles in the “Rocky” series. He is undeniably a capable actor, and effortlessly delivers as Danien who goes from a former criminal seeking a fresh start to a villain with a hidden agenda who betrays Adonis. Even though he is still very cruel, manipulative, cruel and loves to play dirty, I can't help feeling sympathy after knowing more about his background. He really excels in those kinds of roles, even in Ant-Man 3.

Detailed Picture

Kramer Morgenthau, who previously worked on “Creed II,” returned behind the camera and captured the film from dramatic angles, dark shadows around the ring to emphasize the more intense fights, and cast vivid colors in warm scenes.

He also made unexpected improvements to the formula. By using slow motion techniques in combat, this allows the audience to participate in a moment-by-moment analysis of each punch, as Adonis sees weaknesses in the opponent's defense and so on.

This was particularly true of the first and last matches, where they used a combination of fast-paced camera angles and slow-motion shots of the furious punches. What can I say, I like this approach, because boxing is not all about fighting. Boxers also need to think about strategy. With Creed using more strategic camera techniques in his film, this film shows a tactical side of this sport that is different from the majority of other similar films.

While Creed III's visuals are stunning and full of detail, it's annoying when some parts of the arena show "fake" crowds of spectators. This stands in stark contrast to the rest of the film's aesthetic.

Conclusion

Creed III still sticks to some of the boxing movie formulas we've seen so many times before, but actor-director Michael B. Jordan has shown that he has what it takes to make a great sequel, and more importantly, a much better sequel to 2018 sequel.

Although still a sequel to Rocky, Creed III finally acknowledges that Adonis' story now has a completely separate identity, and the freedom to make his own decisions and develop. Creed III is a cool sequel that took a risk and did it.

With good looks, great cinematography and a strong script, Creed III is a story about never giving up, friendship and letting go of the past. Because of this, Creed III earns its place among the best boxing films by being a medium that shows detailed fist fights, not just fist fights about revenge.

Sasha and Kam got married in Series Sex/Life season 2

Sasha (Margaret Odette), Billie's best friend, meets again with her ex-boyfriend from college, Kam (Cleo Anthony), who is now a doctor traveling the world. In the last episode, Sasha finally succeeded in releasing her book, Unattached, which tells about women's independence in living her single life. But on the other hand, he is confused, because he has to let go of Kam, who he loves dearly.

In season 2, Cooper (Mike Vogel) is shown as a person who fell apart after his household with Billie failed. Cooper took out his pain on many dangerous things, such as alcohol, drugs, and sex with just anyone.

In the end, a terrible accident and Billie's embrace made him realize that he was a good man again. Cooper underwent counseling to heal his wounds. He also began to accept that Billie could no longer be with him. Cooper also harbored his heart for Emily (Hannah Galway), who was once in his past.

Billie passed S3

Determined to live her life to the fullest, Billie focuses on doctoral studies and children. He successfully completed his dissertation while spending time with his two children. At graduation, Billie was surrounded by loved ones who made her life complete.

Not only with her children and mother, Billie enjoyed her graduation celebration by having dinner with her ex-husband, Cooper and his future wife, Emily, and her best friends, Sasha and Kam. That night, Billie and Cooper also finally had a deep talk, resolved all feelings, and supported each other for each other's future. This scene is so touching!

Billie Finally Reunites with Brad

Since the first season, Brad has always been the man Billie wanted even though he had built a household with Cooper. At the beginning of season 2, Brad and Billie break up, because Brad chose Gigi (Wallis Day), a model who was pregnant with his child. They also get married this season and break Billie's heart again.

But in the end, during Sasha and Kam's wedding, Brad appears alone and says that Gigi has decided to go with another man. Even Billie couldn't contain her happiness, because now she and Brad could be together.
