Comedian Rob Delaney returns to the world of comic films with the actor joining the cast of Deadpool 3. The bravest and most dedicated member of X-Force is returning as Deadline has reported that Rob Delaney will be reprising his role as Peter in Deadpool 3. With no superpowers in sight, it's Peter's dedication to his work and love for his team members that made Deadpool played by Ryan. This Reynolds travels to the past during a post-credits scene to give him a new lease on life, saving him from his untimely death.
For those who may not remember, Delaney's Peter is a member of the superhero team Deadpool who is on a mission to rescue teenage mutant Russell Collins aka Firefist (Julian Dennison) from the Mutant Re-education Center where he previously faced horrific and unspeakable torture at the hands of the teachers. Besides Peter, the group also includes Domino (Zazie Beetz), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), Zeitgeist (Bill SkarsgĂ„rd), and Vanisher (Brad Pitt). While Peter meets a grisly end after attempting to save Zeitgeist from a woodcutter only to have the hero vomit up bile, killing him instantly, the final moments of the sequel see Deadpool time travel to make several changes to his life story – including bringing Peter back. from death.
While plot details are being kept under wraps for now, fans can't wait to see the latest installment in the Deadpool franchise which will see Hugh Jackman return as Wolverine. Apart from Delaney, this film will also feature the return of a number of familiar faces such as Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapicic and Leslie Uggams. Meanwhile, the new stars who will join are The Crown star, Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen from the series Succession.
Rob Delaney is perhaps best known for his work behind Catastrophe, the comedy series he created and stars in. The actor also had roles in the Netflix fantasy films The School for Good and Evil, Home Sweet Home Alone, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Next, Delaney will appear in the film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, as well as in Matthew Vaughn's film Argylle. Apart from Catastrophe, Delaney has also brought his talents to the small screen in several series such as The Power and The Man Who Fell to Earth. He will soon appear in Black Mirror Season 6 and Bad Monkey on Apple TV+.
Directed by Free Guy and The Adam Project director Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is expected to arrive in theaters on November 8, 2024.
